Manuscript is built to prioritize privacy and file ownership. This policy explains what data the app processes and how that data is handled.
Data we process
- Your writing files: Stored locally in files you create and control.
- Optional iCloud sync: If enabled by your Apple account, your project files sync through iCloud.
- Optional API keys: If you use AI or speech integrations, API keys are stored on-device in secure storage.
- Optional location data: Used only when a location-related feature is used by you.
What we do not do
- We do not require account registration for Manuscript.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not run advertising trackers in the app.
Third-party services
Any third-party services are optional and user-initiated (for example, AI providers when configured by the user). Their use is governed by each provider's own privacy policy.
Your choices
- Delete projects at any time by removing files from your device or iCloud Drive.
- Export your work at any time in supported formats.
- Remove optional API keys from app settings.
